Each year the marathon partners with local running clubs and organizations that volunteer to make all events spectacular. In addition to providing a great social environment, if you need a running partner or advice in training, these clubs have members who can share
their running experiences.

Brighton Area Road Striders

The Brighton Area Road Striders (BARS) is a running club in Brighton, Michigan. The Club meets weekly on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm. In colder months, the Club meets at Brighton High School. They run in a low traffic subdivision to avoid main thoroughfares.

Downtown Runners and Walkers

The Downtown Runners and Walkers is the popular walking/running group usually running out of Downtown Detroit. Each Tuesday-rain or shine-20 to 50 people ranging in abilities from seasoned marathoners to beginning walkers/runners meets at a different metro Detroit site. After route instructions, people take off on a course of four to eight miles. The start time is 5:45 p.m. except for those days indicated in advance on our web site, when the starting time is 6:15 p.m. After the run or walk, everyone meets for food, drink and the most interesting conversations.
